Ugh... my comments have been targetted by blogspammers. As far as I know, the way it works is, they spam your comments with bullshit that has links in it, and use that to get their pagerank up. There are several ways to block them, none of them ideal. I've opted for a medium route - comment moderation, which is the same thing Jackie has done on her blog.

This is why I'm torn on net anonymity... On the one hand, there's the argument that you don't want "Big Brother" knowing too much about you, and whose hands the information would be in ultimately. On the other hand, without anonymity, there would pretty much be no spammers - you could find out who they were, and ideally shoot a jolt of electricity directly into their genitals, or at least report them to the authorities. And of course, there's always the question of implementation - could someone come up with a system of identification that could stop spammers without infringing on individual privacy? And if so, could the system ever be implemented in a way that anyone was happy with?

Of course not. But seriously, fuck spammers.
